A grand beach-front summer home with great views of the open ocean. This spacious newly renovated home is located in the private ocean side community of Indian Point. As guests of this small secluded private community, you will enjoy access to several sandy beaches, nature trails along the marshes, tidal sand flats, miles of beautiful rocks with spectacular views and a boat launch on a sheltered bay . . ideal for launching a kayak where one can paddle out to the open ocean amongst the working lobster boats or meander up into the salt marshes. Step off the front steps of this cottage and you can enjoy swimming in the tidal waters of Little River with its current . . . great fun for kids using rafts. On the other side of Little River is the southern tip of Reid State Park, which is easily accessible at low tide. There you can enjoy miles of sandy beaches and beautiful sand dunes. A relaxing atmosphere awaits you in this large one-floor summer home. There is a large deck looking out to the ocean as well as two screened porches. The open concept kitchen, dining/living room is accented by vaulted ceilings, cherry cabinets, hardwood floors, and handsome woodwork of beautiful fur and pine walls. It has a large living room with a fireplace as well as a glass wall looking out to the surf and the open ocean. Enjoy preparing meals in this fully equipped kitchen while enjoying the company of your guests in the living room. This 4 bedroom, 3.5 baths home will accommodate 8 people. There is one bedroom with a king-size bed , two bedrooms with queen-size beds with full baths, and one bedroom with twin beds. There is a half-bath off the hallway as well as a laundry room with washer and dryer. Although most guests will just stay and enjoy the amenities of Indian Point, others will take a 10 minute drive to Five Islands considered by many to be the most picturesque fishing village in the mid coast area of Maine. On the wharf at Five Islands enjoy a shore dinner of lobsters and clams while watching boats go in and out of the harbor. On the island of Georgetown you will find a marina, general store, two restaurants and a farm stand with fresh local vegetables, cheeses, wines and much much more. A twenty minute drive up Route 127 is the historic city of Bath with its rich maritime history and several old sea captain homes. While in bath visit the Maine Maritime Museum as well as many stores, wonderful shops and restaurants. A forty minute drive from this grand summer home is the outlet shopping in Freeport, home of LL Bean’s flagship store. Antiquing is available 30 minutes away in Wiscasset, For sightseeing, you will want to take day trips to Boothbay Harbor and Portland, both one hour away. Rates are $2500 to $2800 per week. Monthly and long-term winter rentals are negotiable. Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM on Saturdays. Linen and towels are provided and pets and smoking are not permitted.
