Located on the banks of the Kennebec River estuary, this lovely contemporary style summer home with a guest cottage has the perfect setting for gorgeous sunsets while relaxing in the screened in front porch. This home has a dock and the use of a canoe and small 15’ sailboat. Bring or rent a kayak and enjoy the tidal waters that provide a gateway to the marshes. This property is situated in a very private setting with no other homes or cottages in the immediate area . . . your view is water and woods. This very roomy home and guest cottage has a total of five bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people. There are three full bathrooms. Bathroom 1 has a shower/tub combination as well as a washer/dryer. Bathroom 2 has a tub and shower. Bathroom 3 is located in the guest house and has a shower/tub combination. Linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, but no garbage disposal. On a cool day, enjoy the warmth of the woodstove in the living room. This summer home is a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beaches at Reid State Park and the picturesque fishing village of Five Islands and yet only a 20 minute drive to the historical City of Bath where you can visit the Maine Maritime Museum as well as a variety of stores, shops and restaurants. If you are in the mood for eloquent five-star dining, make reservations for the Robinhood Meetinghouse less than a 10 drive away. A 40 minute drive from this charming home is the outlet shopping in Freeport, home of LL Bean’s flagship store. Antiquing is available a 30 minute drive along Route 1 in Wiscasset. Portland is one hour south. Rates are $1300 to $1500 per week. Shorter stays are negotiable with a three night minimum. This home is pet friendly, but sorry no smoking.
