Situated on the open ocean with fantastic panoramic views of Reid State Park to the north and Seguin Island Lighthouse to the south, this former studio of an internationally known artist who’s portrait paintings, water colors and etchings are represented in the permanent collections of many museums and universities as well as private collections in the U.S. and abroad. This very unique studio is located in the private community of Indian Point where you can access several private beaches, bays, tidal sand flats and beautiful nature trails. This one-of-a-kind property sits atop the rocky shoreline where you can enjoy watching the pounding surf, boats and waterfowl. At night you will be relaxed by the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks and the smell of the ocean air.
A relaxing atmosphere awaits you in this cozy three-bedroom studio. It has a very large living room with large picture windows looking to the sea. This vista provided the artist many subjects for his Maine paintings including Southport Island, Boothbay, Seguin Island, the Cockolds and Monhegan Island.
There is a fully equipped galley kitchen, two bathrooms, utility room with washer/dryer and a sun room. Two bedrooms have queen-size beds and there are twin beds in other bedroom. There is a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room.
Most guests will stay at Indian Point for its feeling of a remote island retreat. Others can take a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beaches and sand dunes at Reid State Park or the picturesque fishing village of Five Islands. On the wharf at Five Islands enjoy a shore dinner while watching the working lobster boats. On the island of Georgetown you will find a marina, general store, two restaurants and a farm stand with fresh local vegetables, cheeses, wines and much more.
